SourcePilipinas.com, Inc. celebrated its 5th year anniversary on 29 September 2005,
with the launch of its Feedback Board. With more than 2,300 Trading Partners in its network,
the firm has drawn several industries that have largely benefited from e-Procurement and Cataloguing, among others.
"Source's Exchange has improved significantly," says Christine Yap, SourcePilipinas.com, Inc.'s
Chief Executive Officer (CEO). "Our services now covers local and foreign firms that are into telecommunications,
networks, industrial gases, education, pharmaceutical, power & energy, real estate and infrastructure that have
coursed their capex requirements online," she added. In fact, SourcePilipinas' value pass through improved 50%
year-on-year, with 150,000 transactions processed online as of September.
The significant improvement stemmed from Source's move to provide value-added services to Trading Partners.
After the soft launch of its e-Payment and e-Directory systems, the company showcased its Feedback Board that aids and
widens Trading Partners' accreditation process.
"The board is a useful tool that allows our Trading Partners to know community members' rating for a
specific supplier or buyer," says Yap. "Dual feedback provides clearer view to rectify concerns that may have been
raised in the regular flow of transaction, and encourage others that have been performing above par," she added.
The Feedback board complements SourcePilipinas' Market Intelligence data, which shall be complemented by up-to-date
financial statistics on procurement-related undertakings.
Yap said "These are part of Source's vision to introduce positive changes in the way procurement is done
through an Active Exchange utilized by all industries, and one that reinforces Teamwork and promotes transparency."

SourcePilipinas Radiates a Different Light for Christmas
SourcePilipinas' Team took on a different angle last Christmas, after spending time with the
underprivileged children of Brgy. Zapote 1, Bacoor Cavite last 04 December 2004.
Through the collective efforts of the Barangay Council, Source prepared a meaningful Christmas gathering
for fifty (50) children, which brought warmth and glad tidings to participants' hearts.

Undaunted by Winnie and Yoyong's wrath from 02 December 2004, 04 December 2004 shed a radiant light for
SourcePilipinas. More than being thankful for clearer skies and sunshine, all waited with bated breath
following the series of preparation for Brgy. Zapote I, Imus, Cavite's anticipating tots.
Gathered in the spirit of prayer, the road to our venture was challenging, yet exhilarating.
Preludes of silence suggested a number of things, possibly driven by trepidation if the event will
turn out to be a flop or success.
Having arrived at the main Barangay hall, children aged 4 to 8 fell in-line,
clad in neat clothes and brightly-lit faces. Much to say,
indifference became a far-fetched word, especially after we reached out our hands and smiles
to little boys and girls. Our revised Trip to Jerusalem (where Source's members acted as chairs),
brought so much fun, not to mention little Melvin's dance rendition of the "Spaghetti pa-baba, pa-taas".
We will also cherish the moment when some of the little kids had to hurry home,
to impart their gifts and food with their siblings.
"Masarap din pala maging Ate at Kuya paminsan-minsan," quips one of Source's members.
The greatest joy we experienced throughout the event, is the fact that Source had the opportunity to realize,
we have so much grace to give.

After 4 years, IT firm
makes official debut
By Cathy Rose A. Garcia
Online procurement firm SourcePilipinas.com stepped
into the limelight Friday after spending four years away from the
public eye building an extensive client base for business-to-business
transactions, by announcing a new set of value added services to
attract new customers.
Attention on the so-called B2B market, or business-to-business
transactions conducted online, has largely been focused on BayanTrade,
formed in 2001 by six of the country’s most powerful business
groups, which has 325 buyers and 2,500 suppliers.
But while SourcePilipinas.com may sound like the new
kid on the block, the company was actually the first trailblazer
in the local online procurement firm. Company officials reported
that the B2B firm has over 1,800 trading partners and will be adding
5,000 more by the end of the year when it is expected to finish
processing other applications.
SourcePilipinas chief executive Christine Yap said
the company is hoping to capitalize on its niche as a provider of
value-added sourcing this year. At yesterday’s launch, the
company unveiled the new look of its website, an online directory
of its trading partners and a new e-payment facility provided by
United Coconut Planters Bank.
“Our aim is to form a collaborative community
that allows trading partners to examine business opportunities for
specific requirements across industry sectors,” Yap said.
SourcePilipinas.com general manager Grace Cerdenia said even more
value-added services which she declined to elaborate on, would be
launched by the fourth quarter.
SourcePilipinas had growing pins when it was set up
in 2000 by Yap, founder of IT services firm e-Yapster Inc. and daughter
of stockbroker and mining magnate Felipe Yap. Initially, the company’s
business was confined to procuring office equipment for companies
four years after it was founded, its customers come from a wide,
diversified range of industries such as commodities, medical equipment
and suppliers, engineering materials and service-related contracts.
“We have also initiated handling non-performing
asset disposals for both property and banking segments,” Yap
said. Soon, SourcePilipinas emerging industry segments will grow
to enable its trading partners to handle negotiations on requirements
by the Bureau of Treasury, power supply contracts and other allied
oil and mineral-related sectors.
SourcePilipinas.com is extending the range of its
value-added services to be able to cater top its growing regional
clientele. It already has a tie-up with the Australian Agency for
International Development and embassies like the United Kingdom,
Australia, and Indonesia—countries that view the Philippines
as a competitive trading partner.
Its trading partner directory allows companies to
locate prospective buyers and sellers for their products, enabling
them to widen their sourcing strategy for their respective supply
chains, brainstorm for greater opportunities to save on costs and
get a better fit on an item’s strategic importance against
information search requirements.
“It’s a powerful tool that can be used
to streamline supplier selection prior to evaluation and performance
measurement,” the company said. SourcePilipinas.com said trading
partner members would be able to adopt “emerging skills”
requirements, including strategic focus in understanding and working
in non-traditional areas.
